Is there A Home Care Supplement for Veterans?

Veterans Supplement

The veterans’ supplement provides extra funds for veterans with a mental health condition which the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) accepts is related to their service.

It provides an extra 10% funding on top of the basic subsidy for the relevant Home Care Package level. Current rates of the Veterans' supplement are on the schedule of subsidies and supplements which you can find here.

Eligibility

This is determined by the Department of Veterans and the supplement is for a veteran who has a mental health condition which the DVA has determined is related to their time in service. If a veteran qualifies for both a Veterans’ Supplement and also a Dementia and Cognition Supplement in Home Care, then the approved provider will only receive the Veterans’ Supplement.
